Facilities at Sandsifter
At Sandsifter, we endeavour to make your visit a pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable experience - and we openly invite everyone to share this experience.
We have disabled toilets, baby changing facilities and disabled access along with designated disabled parking.
There is extensive parking at Sandsifter. Parking is chargeable in the summer, but refunds are made at the bar against food and drink purchases.
Sandsifter welcomes families and children, and dogs under control are welcome in the restaurant.
We also accept most major debit and credit cards and offer a cashback facility.
The area around Sandsifter, known as St Gothian Sands, is a prime area for walking and observing wildlife. In 2005, the area was designated as a nature reserve and is ideal for observing a variety of rare birds includling killdeers, American robins, black redstarts and water pipits. Next to Sandsifter is the Gwithian Academy of Surfing where surf lessons can be booked and equipment hired or booked.
Nearby, of course, is the breathtaking Gwithian beach with its famous surf break. This is a great beach for walking and taking in the beauty of west Cornwall. There is a level walk from the Sandsifter to the Gwithian beach and the beach has lifeguard cover during the summer months.
Other recommended walks and sights include Godrevy Lighthouse and the colony of seals that can be observed from the coastal path near Godrevy Head.
